The artistry part of makeup artists has never been in doubt, but there’s been an ever-growing list of makeup artists taking beauty looks to a level that’s downright museum-worthy. From this Harry Potter transformation to this woman who can turn herself into a dead ringer for Cara Delevingne, there’s always a new source for beauty inspiration. Today’s newest obsession? A 17-year-old from Texas who creates eyeshadow looks inspired by hip hop album artwork. Sarah Khan’s creations riff off of popular music (specifically Kanye West), and the looks are some of the freshest we’ve seen. She kicked off her work with a College Dropout-inspired eye, and the metallic design was an instant, overwhelming crowd pleaser.
“When I posted my first look, which was inspired by the College Dropout album cover, many people really liked it and began requesting for me to do looks inspired by his other albums too, so I started doing one look a day,” Khan told Buzzfeed. Since then, she’s done looks for Life of Pablo, Yeezus, Acid Rap by Chance the Rapper (which is probably the trippiest eye she’s done), Travis Scott’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, and more.
We’re guessing Kanye is thrilled with the attention, because he’s inspiring some legit works of art here. “I love Kanye and I love makeup, so I thought it would be so cool to put two of my favorites together and create makeup looks inspired by my favorite artist’s album covers,” Khan told cosmopolitan.com. It takes the teen around thirty minutes to complete each insanely awesome design. “My go-to beauty products are definitely Morphe eye shadow palettes, NYC liquid eyeliner, LA Girl Pro Conceal concealers, and Vegas Nay Grand Glamour lashes,” she told Cosmo. Well, consider us fans, along with many others on social media. We can’t wait to see what Khan is cooking up next.
